Summer's Here

HOORAH!!! HOORAH!!! Nice weather, beautiful warm offshore mornings, bikinis, what more can be said.

Well what really bothers surfers is the reality beneath the glossy venire. Small waves, big egos and the mass crowds who got a new board for Christmas.

We live in Perth, nice beaches and now a decent population, as much as we hate it there’s no escaping the crowds. But there are some steps we can take to reduce the carnage.

Share the beach, don’t be a muppet, you own it as much as the other guy. Regardless of whether you’ve been surfing the same spot for 50 years- share it.

The flip side of this is respect, if you are just starting out, be mindful of others who know what they are doing. Avoid paddling out directly in front of them- find a nice spot with other learners.

Learn the rules, don’t paddle in someone’s path, if need be hang back and cop the wave on the head, you have a greater chance of survival. If someone is on a wave, let it go- there are plenty more to come.

At the end of the day- no one wants to go to hospital, everyone is out for a good time. Chill out get some waves and enjoy the nakedness summer brings here.

Stick it

What’s brown and sticky?

A stick. Well lame jokes aside sticking stuff is cool, good for the environment and awesome fun- that’s why stickers were invented. At Morning Chubb were doing our bit and providing you with all the sticky enjoyment you can poke a “stick” at.

Go ahead get yourself a Morning Chubb sticker, send us an email and well sort you out. Although most punters choose to stick it on their cars, planes and trains, but it’s up to you. Once you own it you can stick it anywhere, even pets- goldfish love em.

Morning Chubb Learn to Surf

Perfect conditions made the way for a great day.
Around 20 people took turns (with some even making turns) trying their luck at surfing.

Accredited surf instructor Mark Chater and crew provided one-on-one coaching and was able to maintain his 100% success rate: everyone who tried got up on a wave. The Morning Chubb Photography team was also there to capture the adventure.

All money raised went to charity with this years cause: Spinal Injuries Research through the Lianne Crowe Trust Fund .

For those who couldn’t make it we will be running another soon, just have to wait till the right conditions. If you would like to be notified when the next day is on email mark@morningchubb.com.au or text Mark 0416968677 with your name and state your interest. See you in the water..

Morning Chubb Charity Surf Comp

The annual Morning Chubb Charity Surf Contest was held up at Lancelin’s finest beaches. The surf contest was an absolute success, great turn out and lots of fun had by all.

A big thanks to Mark Chater for organising the event. Thanks to everyone who entered the comp as well as those who provided support on the beach.
